5 Star Review: An Honest Reveal, December 3, 2011
By EE Wilder (PA - USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mom's on the Roof and I Can't Get Her Down (Kindle Edition)
I was first drawn to Mom's on the Roof and I Can't Get Her Down as it touched on a subject personal to me. An NDE - near death experience. Soon, however, I found myself experiencing an honest and frank look into a family trauma. Cynthia held nothing back when it came to her feelings during her mother's terminal illness and her father's reaction and tragic action. In this work of Non-Fiction, the author has lifted the fog that hides the turmoil within families when faced with the tragedy of disease - both of body and mind. And she allows the reader a peek into the different ways family members react to the same situation. As for Cynthia, I found her most brave in revealing her inner thoughts.
5 Star Review: Mom's on the Roof by Cindy Hanson, January 4, 2012
By Kissablysweetone - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mom's on the Roof and I Can't Get Her Down (Paperback)
The moving, heartwarming, touching story of a family's journey through cancer. Mom is diagnosed with cancer and the rest of the family tries to cope and handle all that encompasses. It's never easy and each one learns something new through the process. It's a never ending journey when shortly after Mom passes, Dad passes too. One family tragedy after another. One daughter becomes stronger than she ever dreamed she could be. She learns more about herself with each new challenge.
I can't recommend this book enough!!! For anyone who has lost a parent, or had a family member deal with cancer, this will open your eyes. If you approach this with an open mind, you will see what death can be, and how it actually is at times. Having a family history of cancer, and dealing with it myself, this book touched home.
I couldn't find anything wrong with this. Although I know some close minded individuals will read it and scoff, this book is amazing!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Loving and Inspirational!,
March 12, 2012 By Jan Romes - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mom's on the Roof and I Can't Get Her Down (Kindle Edition) I stayed up late last night to finish Cindy Meyers-Hanson's book, MOM'S ON THE ROOF...AND I CAN'T GET HER DOWN! With this book I shared Cindy's journey of faith, love, loss, and strength! Her story tugged at my heart, made me feel her fears and pain, but it also allowed me to smile at the way she handled certain situations. Throughout the burden of losing her Mom, and soon afterward losing her Father, then dealing with a dose of fear regarding her own health -- she remained a loving daughter, wife, sister, niece, and friend. I applaud Cindy for writing this book. It was a loving tribute to her Mom, and an inspiration to those of us that have gone through the same trials. Well done, Cindy!

Mom’s on the Roof and I Can' Get Her Down
Jennifer Hood: Something interesting happened when my dad, a backsliding Christian, died- he flung his body fighting death. Then, he became peaceful, raised his arms to the left, speaking these last words, “Dear God! Merciful Jesus!” Many relatives witnessing this thought he was just hedging his bets. After reading this book, I allowed myself to accept that my dad got mercy and is resting in peace. Thank you for your book.
Roberta McKenna: Cindy, when I read your book, I discovered I just read a Master Piece. This author responded, “Yes, it is the Master’s Peace (pieces)!”
Frank: I can’t believe I let your book sit unread for a year. It only took me two days to complete the book because I could not put it down! I should have read it much sooner.
Mrs. Simon & Mrs. Fox: Often, I get your book out to reread. I will NOT loan it to anyone because I am afraid they will not return it to me. I need your story too much to loose it in my life!
Ms. F and Ms P.: When I am low, I pick up and reread those comforting pages of your book. Have you written more because I am ready to read more of your books?
Eldean: I found your book in my dad’s belongings after he died. I so needed your comforting words. I prayed to meet you, and here you are! Have you written more?
The author’s mailman: My wife got your book from Hospice. I have been looking for you; here you are! I relate to your story! Thanks!

Great interview, Chicki! I really enjoyed reading about Cynthia Meyers-Hanson's journey into publishing.
What better legacy could a mother leave her daughter than an understand of, and relationship with, angels?
The perseverance of the human spirit--especially when guided by the strength of unwavering faith--is my favorite type of story, true or created, to read.
